Latté as Accessory

I’m not sure why more of my photos don’t feature me holding a latté. I drink one every day. I can recall at least one other post where I have a coffee in hand. Here’s another.

Today is a jeans-and-T day. My version includes a blazer, accessories, and sometimes, funky shoes.

green T

Blazer: Smart Set via Goodwill
Top: Old Navy
Jeans: Salt Works Jeans
Necklace: Imani
Shoes: Aerosoles
Latté: Starbucks

Even though I’m wearing a green T, I’m drinking a soy latté. As nice as it is to support small, local coffee shops (and I do), I am also a fan of Starbucks. I can get great drinks consistently, no matter where I go. Being a Seattle transplant has turned me into a coffee snob. It’s hard to get good bagels out here, but in New York City, I had trouble finding good coffee. On my last trip there I walked several blocks, past other shops, to get my Starbucks. I tried the others, and couldn’t finish them.

One more thing: If you get a Starbucks card and register it online, you can get your soy and flavors for free! Starbucks will also give you a free beverage after 15 purchases. It took me only ten years of drinking lattés to learn this. It’s not well promoted in the stores. Don’t wait a decade to start cashing in.

  1. I just stat down with my morning coffee as I was opening your blog! I have not been much of a coffee drinker my whole life, and then in the past three months or so I have really started loving a morning cup. I can already tell that I have serious likes and dislikes when it comes to coffee. Starbucks is usually good, but not consistently. Often they only have Pike’s Place (What do you mean you are out of coffee?? You are a coffee shop!!!) and sometimes they coffee can taste…burnt. But 80% of the time it is a sure win for me, so I totally get it. Plus I know I can walk in, get what I need, and get out on my way again.

  2. I love your stylish yet simple Friday look. I’m a big Starbucks girl, too and my trusty card has served me well. I just got the fancy gold one with my name printed on it. Feeling like a rockstar now with my special pass. Too bad I still have to pay for it….

    Have a great Friday!

  3. @kristen: So weird that Starbucks would run out of coffee. That’s bascially the one thing they need. I hope that would never happen in Seattle – we’re serious about our coffee!

@ Lindsay: I can’t wait for my gold card! I think I need to buy ten more drinks before I qualify. Won’t be long… I want to feel like a rock star too 🙂
