Neon and Neutral

Pretty Shiny Sparkly recently started a Bloggers do it Better movement to showcase real women with real style. I missed the first few opportunities to show how I would style color blocking, all white, and prep school (respectively, not all at once; that would be a real challenge!).

But I made it this time around and I’m showing how I chose to style neon and neutral. Pairing brights with neutrals is hot on the runway, and I like the look: Neutrals are a great way to handle the intensity of brights and the combination is modern and fresh. Neon and black is very intense and more retro (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Have you tried neon recently, or does it give you flashbacks to the 80s?

  1. I like the neon with the neutral look!!! I have yet to try it but I scored a fantastic neon highlighter yellow tank from a friend recently and I am dying to try this! Never thought to do it with khaki’s! Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thanks! I’ve never styled brights with neutrals so I was happy to try the challenge. I’ll mix this way again for sure. I think a neon highlighter yellow tank would look great with khaki’s! When you try it, post and show us all 🙂

  3. It’s a good look love your haircut! I think sometimes the best way to wear brights are with neutrals especially when I’m uncertain… You wear it well and I love the pink! 🙂 Happy Friday!
