Color blocking with a Mock Turtleneck

I love the color and softness of this short-sleeved, mock turtleneck but I have trouble finding opportunities to wear it. It’s either too hot for a turtleneck or too cold for short sleeves.

Here, I wore it with a cardigan. Practical, yes, but it covers up the keyhole cutout on the back of the top. One day soon, I’ll wear it with a pencil skirt and I’ll skip the cardi.

Top: Papaya
Cardigan: Ross Dress for Less
Skirt: Newport News
Earrings: Minnesota Airport
Cuff: Greenbelts
Clutch: Seatbelt Bag via thrifted
Boots: John Fluevog

I love this skirt. I’ve had it for years. The slight fishtail at the back is sexy, but it’s toned down enough for work. Plus, it’s super comfy to wear a cozy jersey knit while sitting at a PC all day.

  1. Jean, I love this look on you – I try to do drapey like this and look slouchy. You look….super chic. Nicely done!

  2. The cardigan is gorgeous, and this color combination rocks! I have a similar skirt from Newport News and I love it!!!

  3. Thanks both of you! I like layers and drapiness when it’s not sloppy. Newport News is an unexpected place to get neat clothes. VictorianKitty, I saw on your blog that you shop there too!
