Menswear with a Feminine Twist

I like menswear-inspired clothing. I wasn’t sure I could pull off a vest and tweed pants, but I found both of these items at a clothing swap and had nothing to lose.

vest and pants

Top: H&M
Vest: Express via swapped
Pants: Swapped
Tights: Target
Booties: Old Navy

I added a bold blue top to spice things up and wore tights and heels (heels being a decidedly womanly style). I like how the pants (or are they shorts?) are embellished with metallic thread in a floral pattern. How lady-like!

Coat: eBay
Gloves: H&M

It was a cold day in Seattle, so I wore a coat over the whole thing. This coat was an eBay find. It’s the type of thing I can buy online without having to worry about whether it’s going to fit. The waist is adjustable and the sleeves are loose. There’s no seam at the shoulder so “tailor-made” wasn’t a requirement. In fact, it’s kind of cape-like.

  1. Hi Jean, with no Internet I am missing your daily updates!! At Williams Coffee Pub now so I can check out what’s new and I love it!! This is such a great look for a cool Seattle winter day – quite a contrast from the summery outfits you wore last week!!

Let's chat! I love hearing from you:
