In photos, this dress looks red, but in real life, you can see small black squares all over it. The squares have rounded corners, making it seem slightly retro.
Dress: Ross Dress for Less
Necklace: Gifted
Clutch: Swapped
Shoes: Nine West via thrifted
It’s a faux wrap–doesn’t actually wrap–so I slip it on over my head. It’s great for work too and the poly jersey blend means it never wrinkles. When I wear this to work, I wear a cami underneath. For dinner or dancing, a plunging neckline seems appropriate.
It’s a thrifty outfit too. Between the gift, the clothing exchange, and the thrift store, I did well. I think the whole thing came in at under $30.
Of course, this outfit is part of Red and Black Week over at Sophistiqué Noir. Check out the other challenge posts on her site.
I love dresses like that – pull on, no wrinkle, and bright red! You look great in it!
Thanks! That’s exactly why I like it. It’s so easy to look pulled together. One piece, no wrinkles 🙂
Your dress is lovely!
Thank you! I wish you could see the design more but they don’t show up in the pictures.
Very pretty dress. I love the clutch too!
Thanks! The closure on the clutch is neat. It almost looks like you’d need a key to open it 🙂
It’s a gorgeous dress. I wish I lived near thrift shops, those shoes look lovely too.
Thanks! Yes, thrift stores are fun – and a great way to keep the shopping budget small.
Wow that dress looks very nice on you ^^
Thanks Lesthi!
Wrap dresses always have such a classy, flattering look. I love the simple elegance of this one, with a touch of retro whimsey!
I agree. And they’re suprisingly easy to wear and seem flattering on everyone.
This is like the exact dress I’m looking for, I it need for a costume. Does the dress happen to say a brand by chance?
I cut the tag out so I don’t see any brand. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
