For today’s Red and Black look (part of Red and Black Week at Sophistiqué Noir) I’m dressing to the nines. I actually haven’t worn this out yet, but I will. I think it would be suitable for a romantic restaurant with Mr. Jean of all Trades, a burlesque show, or even a vintage car show. It has a bit or a retro, pin-up feel.
Top: Express

Belt: Long Beach shop
Necklace: Claire’s

When I was on Grave Danger, a roller derby team here in Seattle, one of my team mates made these amazing black flower hair clips, complete with skull center. I had fun on that team. Not only did my team mates rock, our team colors were red and black.
SUPERPRETTY! 12 points from sweden ;D
Thanks for the bonus points 🙂
Hotsy totsy! What fabulous details on that skirt. Love the hair flower & the shoes too. Perfect all around.
Thanks – at first I tried it bare-legged but it didn’t work. I needed the fishnets or the shoes were too weird against my skin.
Love those Manolos! And the skirt is gorgeous.
I’ve always wanted some Manolos but they’re too expensive. I went to a high-end consignment shop and got them for much, much less than what they’d be normally.
The skirt is really wonderful, I love all those ruffles.
You look lovely! I love that this look gives a sly little nod to burlesque. Dita Von Teese would be proud!
Thank you! I love Dita von Teese. Just a little nod to burlesque is a good descriptor. I wanted fun, flirty, retro, yet not too over the top.
That skirt is a poem with a flouncy hemline!
Love that! Your comment is poetic too!
My jaw just dropped when I saw this. I bet Mr. Jean will *love* it!! Does your former roller derby partner sell her hair flowers on Etsy, by any chance?
The Mister hasn’t seen it yet (unless he’s reading my posts) so i’ll suprise him when we go out for dinner tomorrow. I’ll check with Sake Bomb and see if she has an Etsy shop. Darling clip, isn’t it?
LOVE!
Thank you! It’s dressier and tighter than what I’m used to but is definitely fun.
