Some days I like simple dressing. Today was one such day and this is one such outfit. It’s just a sweater and jeans.
Sweater: Dress Barn
Pants: Zara
Shoes: Naturalizer via Goodwill
Bracelet: Consignment shop
It’s a bit more special than most “plain” outfits because the sweater has a nice, subtle sparkle to it. Just enough to shine, but not too much for daywear. And my jeans are glazed denim. They have a look not unlike leather, but much cheaper–and vegan!
My mom helped get me this top. She saw a “buy one, get one half off” sale at Dress Barn but wanted only one item. So she brought me along and let me get the discount on whatever I wanted. How nice!
I’ve joined the Anything and Everything blog hop by The Sapphire Bee and My Thrifty Chic. Have a look at what the others are blogging about!
And since it’s Wednesday in the UK, I’ve also joined the fun at Transatlantic Blonde for WIWW. Check it out!
Ahhh!! I just LOVE when my moms does stuff like that! And this top was so worth the trip. You know I love sparkles and when you pair them with stripes, well… let’s just say it’s a total style win! Love the boots too, Jean 🙂
I know you’re also a fan of sparkles 🙂 I saw a poster (online) that said “Keep Calm and Sparkle.” that had your name all over it!
You don’t want to be too busy when you’re wearing a lovely blingy top like that. Pretty!
Good point! The focus in on the top and everything else is a background piece 🙂 There can be only one star 🙂
How sweet of your mom!

Agree! She’s so thoughtful 🙂 You can see the vest she bought at full price at her blog: http://fashionableover50.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/christmas-shopping/
shineSimply sparkling! Just goes to show, you can dress simple and still sparkle! Thanks for linking to my vest, so glad I bought it. Sometimes I hum and haw, and lose out by not buying something I like then later regretting it. Knowing you found a sweater you liked made it easy to decide.
I bought a dress, some bling and new shoes in Costa Rica, I’m sure you’d find lots of things you’d like here. Flying home tomorrow!
❤ mom
I’m glad you got it too! And you’d never be able to simply go back to Seattle and get it if you’d changed your mind. Plus, who knows if it would even be there.
I can’t wait to read about your trip and the things you saw and bought in Costa Rica!
What a nice mom you have!
Cute sweater!
Thanks! Isn’t my mom sweet?
