I like skinny jeans, but I also like boot cuts. The nice thing about the 21st Century is that anything goes. I wouldn’t have dared wear wide legged pants in the 80s (where would I even find a pair?) and I would have shunned skinny jeans in the 90s. Now, I wear what I feel like wearing. Is that a sign of the times or just me getting older and not caring?
Sweater: Target
Jeans: For You
Shoes: Goodwill
Necklace: Sue Huston
This is a simple sweater that I dressed up with a long chain necklace. I like the elongating effect, so I add long necklaces to my outfits a lot.
Coincidentally, this pair of thrifted shoes that I’ve had for years matched. Turns out this was a good casual work outfit that did double-duty for a night of billiards.
Is there a go-to piece of jewelry you have?
I’m with you: love having a variety of denim styles to choose from in my closet. A simple sweater looks totally different with straight leg/wide/boot cut jeans; swapping jeans can really change your look!
The cut of jeans really does change a look! Thanks for visiting my blog today!
You look great and I love how your shoes match your top, lovely colour!
I agree, I think it’s a 21st century thing AND being older so we choose things we like (not what fashion dictates) and have freedom to wear skinny jeans one day, bootcut the next or mini skirt today and maxi dress tomorrow.
I love this freedom – I can buy new styles plus wear my clothes from thirty years ago. No longer are clothes ‘out of style’ they are simply ‘vintage’. Vintage is fashionable!! Right?
Having said that, some designs are not my style whether new or old. I don’t like everything that I see in stores.
When I was younger in the 60s ‘costume’ jewellery was not very nice and sometimes rather hideous (my opinion). However, that’s all changed – now ‘fashion’ jewellery is amazing and fun! I have so much that it takes a long time to make sure every item gets a turn.
Pura vida!! ❤
Thank you! I also love the freedom of dressing to suit my mood or the day and not be dictated to by trends. I have mostly costume jewelry and you’re right–there are so many cute styles. And I never have to worry about losing a fortune if a piece goes missing!
