I bought this dress at a bloggers’ meetup last year and realized I had yet to feature it on my blog!
Dress: Vintage thrifted
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Premier
Clutch: Seatbelt Bag via thrifted
A group of 10 or so Seattle Style Bloggers met for coffee and a walk through Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. We gravitated toward consignment, vintage and thrift stores. I couldn’t resist this dress.
I’d seen new crochet dresses (in fact, I have one), but the idea that this was an original made it even better. I’m not sure of its brand or age, but it’s a fun piece.
Of course, being unlined, I needed a full-length slip. As luck would have it, I found one at another vintage store on “the hill.” I chose nude, but I bet a navy slip would look fun under this dress.
Do you have vintage pieces in your wardrobe?
I’m linking up with Visible Monday and Style Elixir today! Check out what everyone else is wearing!
That one great dress in a fab color. I love that you paired it with cobalt shoes!
blue hue wonderland
Thanks! I felt like I needed the bright shoes to make it less “Easter Sunday.” 🙂 Glad you dropped by!
I remember this dress! You look amazing in it!
Thank you! You have a good memory 🙂 I’ve just added you to my blog roll because I have a bad memory and I forget to visit your blog now that you’re back at it! great to hear from you!
very cool dress
Thanks Marla! I always appreciate you dropping by!
You look lovely in this crochet dress – I agree, the color really makes this one special. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!
Thank you Patti! I was drawn to the color as well.
I like it! I always avoid things like this because of the undergarment issue even though they’re lovely (I’m just lazy). Great find!
I agree! I usually want simplicity and zero chance of wardrobe malfunctions. I liked the dress a lot though so I gave it a try. I was lucky that I found a full slip so quickly. Nothing worse than buying a dress and not being able to wear it because you can’t find the right underpinnings!
Yes, I have vintage pieces that were my Mom’s. That is pretty cool huh? This dress is amazing and I love the royal blue heels paired with it. I am not sure if we know each other but I am #51 at Visual Monday. I think I shall be your newest follower, too.
Thanks for dropping by! Howe great that you have some of your mom’s pieces! I have a few of my mom’s sweaters from the 60s/70s and an early 70s DVF wrap dress that belonged to my grandmother. That one is very special to me. She was so stylish. I’m glad you’re on Visible Monday too. I’ll drop by your blog now!
What a great dress. it looks really chic on you.
What a lovely dress! It is beautiful and I love it. You are really wonderful in it. I think Carmen, your mother will love this dress.
Thank you Josep! I think my mom will like it too 🙂
You’re right!!! I love it!! I used to crochet and I made a vest in a similar colour (where is it – I keep everything). I am in love with lavender ever since I went to Niagara-on-the-Lake. They have a lavender shop and walking into it was a feast for my nose! The colour is so relaxing and now I know why Oma and Marion love these shades of violet and lavender! I plan to do a post on lavender and I’d love to include your photo!!
See you soon!! ❤
I don’t have one, but am inspired by yours. Lucky you … now it’s time to go vintage slip shopping, Lots of colors would work beautifully and offer lots of accessory opportunities! Beautiful.
I agree! I need a colorful slip! Next time you see this dress on my blog, it will look different! Vintage shops, here I come!
Very nice, see if you can dye the slip a dark blue – it would look fab!
Great idea! I’ve seen hand-dyed vintage slips. Not cheap, but a great DIY project.
Can’t wait to see results if you do,
