In my first year of blogging, I discovered Plaidurday. I had fun with my first post about all things plaid, but sort of forgot about the event until Citizen Rosebud reminded me.
Luckily I just got a new pair of plaid pants.
Pants: Joe’s Jeans
Vegan boots: Cri de Coeur
I was innocently returning a skirt at Nordstrom Rack when I spotted these jeans. Normally $180. On sale for $30. How could I resist?
I love their punk rock vibe. I realize a white blouse isn’t very punk, but I can wear these with a black t-shirt too.
I like that the plaid has gray in it, so this will look great with gray or red as well.
Citizen Rosebud is having a Plaidurday link-up, so check out all the tartan lovers over there.
I picked up this dress when I was in Portland a couple of months ago. It has a neat, retro vibe. I got it at a used clothing store, so maybe it is vintage. Who knows?
Dress: Crossroads Trading Co.
Shoes: Arden Wohl x Cri de Coeur
This will make a great go-to summer dress, although tights will make it a year-round item. In the heat of August, I’ll probably wear sandals. But for spring, a variety of shoe styles will work.
I immediately thought of my Arden Wohl x Cri de Coeur vegan suede shoes. The red shoes highlight the bold red stripes.
When clothes are made hastily and patterns don’t line up, it drives me crazy! I’ve walked away from purchased because of sloppy sewing. This dress, however is deliberately mismatched. In fact, there’s no seam down the center. It’s printed that way! This I can live with.
I wore this out to dinner with hubby and a couple we know. We went to a delicious vegan restaurant, Sutra. The menu is local, seasonal, and organic, and changes every two weeks! All the more reason to go back.
Oh, I’ve joined High Latitude Style, Penniless Socialite, Rachel the Hat, and Happiness at Midlife for linkups. See what all the others are wearing!
I’m wearing a mini dress with three-quarter sleeves today. I’m enjoying the sun and warmth while I still can!
Dress: Purdy Girl
Belt: Steve Madden
Shoes: Cri de Coeur
I found this number at a shop in New York’s Upper West Side when I visited in August. It was half off an I couldn’t resist. The waves in blue, purple and gold drew my eye. It’s got a light background, but strong colors.
I added a turquoise belt and gold platforms. I bet I can wear this with leggings and boots when the weather gets cool.
Today, though, cooler weather was not on my mind! I had a nice pedicure last week for a wedding I was in and I intend to show off my toes until it starts to rain.
I hope you have great days ahead too!
It’s rare that I double down on shopping, but when my Vaute Couture Emily coat arrived in mail a couple of months ago, I tried it on, fell in love, and jumped on Vaute’s site so I could buy the other coat I’d been eying: The Traveler.
Coat: Vaute Couture
Boots: Cri de Coeur
I was initially drawn to the color of this coat (dolphin), and the great tagua nut buttons. I also knew that this was the type of coat I’d wear a lot in Seattle (not too warm, not too bulky, but cozy enough to protect me from chilly weather).
The Traveler is made in NYC from recycled materials, and it’s vegan. No down or wool in this baby!
Necklace: Fremont Sunday Market
What better to go with my new coat than my Cri de Coeur booties! These are leather free, fair trade, and I adore the subtle sheen. The soft gray shade goes with everything too.
To offset my investment pieces, I wore a top from the Express sale rack and a skirt I found at a thrift shop.
You can almost make out the new tattoo I have on my calf in this last picture. I’ll save the big reveal until after the color is added.
