Flannel Biker Jacket

Flannel is the uniform of the Pacific Northwest. It’s warm, that’s for sure, but it’s not usually incorporated into fashion-forward garments. Sometimes, Seattleites are called unstylish, but I disagree. And loads of Seattle Style Bloggers will prove otherwise.

I liked this jacket because it’s flannel and it’s stylish.

Jacket: eBay
Dress: Lulu’s
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Scarf: Fred Meyer’s
Bag: Craft fair in Harlem

It’s a classic biker jacket cut in an unexpected color and fabric. A perfect non-leather option. I even included it in a recent vegan motorcycle jacket post on my other blog.

I wore my jacket over a black maxi dress and added pops of color in the form of blue ballet flats, a bright pink belt, and a light gray-blue scarf. My bag from a Harlem craft fair matched so I carried it with me.yellow flannel jacket

I thought this was a comfy and stylish look for an afternoon out with hubby. We went out for lunch and then checked out the Bellevue Arts Museum, which was showing an exhibit of paper clothes. The clothes were elaborate reproductions of period pieces from the 17th century and on. Of course photography was prohibited.

Luckily I got this shot though. I wanted hubby to pose in front of this pair of wings but he insisted I do it. He pointed out that I matched the color scheme of the wings–and he was right.

  1. I like it because it’s yellow!! I love bright colors and the jacket looks great on you chica!

  2. First off I must say I LOVE flannel, or maybe I should say I hate being cold and flannel keeps me warm. Your jacket is a great colour. It “POPS” with fun. I also like the colourful belt and flats. Great pictures as always.

    • So true. Flannel is cozy and necessary in colder climates. And you know me–I had to add a few pops of color 🙂 I hope the weather is nice enough now that you don’t need flannel anymore.

  3. I love the yellow color and flannel! Great outfit for your afternoon out.

  4. Yellow is the hottest spring colour and looks fabulous paired with black! I bought my first spring outfit and it’s yellow and black. I love that jacket! I noticed your tote from the Harlem craft fair immediately. Too bad they only had one.

What fantastic backdrops for this photoshoot, especially the wings!

  6. Hi Jean,
I really love your flannel jacket, recently I dare to buy a yellow sweater along with yellow flats and I matched also with black, and despite my worries I received more positive comments than negative ones. I love visiting museums and galleries cause I can learn something while only watching and reading at the same time. Have a nice day!

    • I’m glad you dared to wear yellow. It’s such a cheery color. More people should be like you and wear what makes them happy.

      • It’s hard to break the fashion rules sometimes and dare to wear in my case as a young ballet flats and also flats in yellow color, it took me courage but I love how they look on my feet, they are really practical for everyday shoes (as an amateur dancer, going to yoga classes and pilates I need nice shoes that I can slip on and off easily) and overall comfy. Thanks for your inspiring words you made my day. Have a nice day !
